The lady I saw was very reassuring and empathetic towards me. I felt at ease discussing my problems with her and felt I could ask questions properly
I was totally happy with the service provided.
The nurse, the Sister, who cared for me, Becca Philips, was simply wonderful. A joy to deal with.Attentive, informative, and knowledgeable.A very good experience.
First it is very hard as there is no way of ever contacting the service, to reply to the sms you have a short amount of time to do so then it times out and you can only send 1 response. Only contact number you are given is Samaritans or 999 which is no good if I only need to contact you to change appointment time. Once my gps practice manager managed to contact the service for me but informed me she could not give out your number to patients.
Often no time slots given so waiting for phone to ring which is hard when working etc. numerous times I wasn’t contacted and my appointments were missed which is upsetting when feeling anxious anyway about speaking with someone and then not receiving the appointment.
The telephone calls were often 5 minutes of asking how life was and if medication needed changing.
Took over a week for Darians prescriber colleague to prescribe citalopram- it was my pharmacist at my gp who chased this for me and eventually got me the medication.
Counselling I received was 6 weeks of 20 minute phone calls which was disappointing as thought the nhs would offer more than this but was told if I wanted any more would need to pay privately. The couples counselling I was given the information on was in Kent so a 3 hour round trip each time i would go to therapy so clearly inappropriate!
Overall the community mental health service has been as disappointing as the postnatal mental health service I received in 2021.
I have been a qualified nurse for 12 years proudly working for the nhs so understand the hardship the nhs faces and the pressures staff and services are under but feel failed once again when my mental health has suffered since having children.
Tina was so lovely and also professional
The nurses have all been very informative about my treatment and very importantly about preventative care once the ulcer has healed.
The care we receive as a group is exceptional, everyone is checked health wise and mental health wise. Without this care I think people would struggle so it is brilliant that as a group it gets people talking about their health and any problems they may have the team are there to answer any questions or help direct you in the right direction for an answer. This is vital care work for patients and would recommend any person who has had a cardiac problem to join one of these classes. I very much enjoy attending and have learnt a lot. Can't praise these people enough for all their hard work.
It is so refreshing feeling like I have been heard! James is the perfect person to be in this role. He shows great empathy and understanding. He was very clear and made sure I understood the "why and why nots" of my assessment and treatment options. He is a great asset to this organisation!
I was referred by my doctor to toby who i spoke to today and he was very understanding and seemed like he genreally cared unlike most he had time to speak to me and listen to me rather than shutting me down Toby was on the phone to me for almost an hour listening to me and done he's best to get me on the right track we need more mental health specialist like toby and I am very greatful he called me today and listened to me 5 stars all around for him
